Dr. Walter Campbell, D.A.O.M, A.P.
Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Licensed Acupuncture Physician

Dr. Campbell has had an office in the Sherry Frontenac Hotel on Miami Beach since 2005. Each night, 22 airlines from all over the world send their flight crews (pilots and flight attendants) there to layover. Two-thirds of his patients are flight crew, and he specializes in Flight Crew health issues, especially Pain Management. His website healthforflightcrews.com contains some interesting research reports, including his paper on “The progression of yin deficiency syndromes in flight crews exposed to dry cabin air for prolonged periods”.

In addition to being a skilled acupuncturist and herbalist, Dr. Campbell is earning his PhD in Integrated Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Additionally, he is an acknowledged researcher of oriental and homeopathic treatments, and has developed several products for use in his clinical practice.

Dr. Campbell attained his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) at Five Branches University of Oriental Medicine, San Jose, California through a cooperative effort between Five Branches University, Zhejiang University in China and Stanford College of Medicine, San Jose, California. Dr. Campbell specialized in Gynecology and Oncology while studying in China, and for his PhD he is currently engaged in research targeted to treating fibrocystic breasts through the integration of Chinese Medicine with the work of Dr. David Brownstein, M.D.

Dr. Campbell enjoys a diverse clinical practice in which he uses both Western and Eastern diagnostic tools in his medical evaluation and diagnosis, giving his patients the benefits of both worlds. His experience with integrating Western Nutritional Theory and Traditional Chinese Medicine for Diabetes is discussed on his website. He uses Eastern methods of diagnosis such as pulse reading, tongue observation and abdominal palpation, and incorporates Western diagnostic tools such as laboratory tests and imaging reports into his assessments. Dr. Campbell employs both conventional and alternative lab tests for evaluating gastrointestinal health, hormone levels, food and environmental allergies, and adrenal and liver function.

Acupuncture is a very powerful healing tool, which has been used for over 2,000 years. Dr. Campbell has chosen to expand his holistic healthcare practice with a wide variety of modalities. Treatments may also include ionic cleansing, heat therapy, herbal formulas, nutritional supplements, as well as diet and lifestyle counseling. During the first visit each patient receives a personalized treatment detailing Eastern and Western diagnosis, appropriate modalities for treatment, and measures for self care.
